Vidya will be seen as a six-month pregnant woman throughout Sujoy Ghosh's Kahaani
Vidya Balan will be seen in a totally different avatar in Sujoy Ghosh's Kahaani. The actress will be seen as a woman with a six-month baby belly. And it is not just in passing. The actress will be seen with a big bump throughout the film.
Shot in Kolkata and London the film will be out some time mid 2011. A source reveals, "Vidya's character is that of a pregnant woman whose husband travels from London to India for work. However, he goes missing and she comes to Kolkata in search of him."
Not without her
Sujoy, who just wrapped the Kolkata schedule, confirms, "It's the story of a woman who's six months pregnant and her journey. I had written the script keeping Vidya in mind. I wouldn't have made the film without her. For me she's a perfectionist who has beautifully brought the character alive."
He adds that she met the challenges of playing an expecting mom rather well, "She made it look so effortless. She never compromised on any aspect of filmmaking. Since cinema is a visual medium it was very important for her to look the part. There is lot of simplicity in her character and at the same time great turmoil within.
Also there were boundaries because a pregnant woman isn't Batman or Superman. She can't do much, there's only so much you can make her do. But the beauty lies in the vulnerability and subtle nuances that she's used to play the character."

Arun (Irrfan Khan) has to save Priti (Chitrangda Singh) the woman he loves, but for that he first has to save the man Priti loves- Shyam, the future son in law of a powerful Minister.
Meanwhile, time is running out for Kuldeep (Arunoday Singh), the young gangster who is on his last job as his wife is threatening to walk out on him completely, and he begins to suspect she is leaving him to go into the arms of another man.
The job has gone haywire for it is still unknown to Kuldeep that the Ministers daughters engagement with Shyam is off and now she doesn’t care whether Shyam lives or dies and more importantly neither does the Minister who Kuldeep hoped would pay the ransom!
Priti finds herself inextractably caught in this mess and Arun has to save her life. But for that he has to risk everything, and put his own life at stake, he wonders why he should do it at all, if she still loves another.
He’s torn, but love knows no reason. Meanwhile Shyam is trying to make deals in captivity, and his goodness only seems superficial and as Kuldeep tries desperately to save his situation, there are dons coming from Bangkok, who have their own plans.
The film rides a roller-coaster towards a shattering climax, where all the players have to fend for their lives and loves. Who gets the girl, and who gets the money, and who escapes by the skin of his teeth, is now anybody’s guess. But hold on, there are still jokers in the pack, and aces up some sleeves

Alisha Chinai whose chartbusters includes Kajraa Re (Bunty Aur Babli) and Tera Hone Laga Hoon (Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani) has decided not to do playback singing anymore.
Says the obstinate singer, "Aishwarya and Katrina are beautiful women. But sorry, I didn't enjoy watching them pretending to sing my songs Kajraa Re and Tera Hone Laga Hoon.
It's so ridiculous! Would you ever see Julia Roberts singing in Madonna's voice? This practice of ghost voices just spooks me out. I can't do it anymore. Sorry."
Who knows Mamta?
what's the solution? "I've none. I can't fight the system. For years and years, the heroines have been walking away with the credit for songs sung by Alisha's latest grievance is over the chartbuster Munni Badnaam Hui. She protests, "Who knows it is sung by Mamta Sharma? Everyone sees it as Malaika's song."

In the past, I saw Sridevi walk away with all the raves for my song Kate Nahin Katate in Mr India. It hurt even then. I'd rather sit at home jobless than allow my talent to be used to further any actress' popularity."
Alisha hopes to revive the era of non-film albums. "I know I'm being unrealistic. But I can't help it.
Either I'll sing in non-film albums or let the singer also do music videos of songs that heroines lip-synch to on screen. I know other singers just sing their songs, take the peanuts offered as remuneration and go home.
I can't do that. I won't be exploited in this way. Pay me and give me my due credit. Or I am out of here."

Actress Raima Sen comes from a family where acting in the genes. Her mother Moonmoon Sen and grandmother Suchitra Sen were renowned actresses in the Bengali film industry. So, it has been quite easy for the 31-year-old actress to convince her family while performing sizzling and intimate roles in the movies.
However, as per the reports, Raima Sen has become very conscious about her lovemaking scene in her latest film Mirch. In this Vinay Shukla directed film, Raima has an intimate lovemaking scene with her co-star Arunodoy Singh, who was last seen in the Sonam Kapoor starrer movie Aisha.
Mirch has four parallel stories, which deals with the female sexuality from the angle of women, who are quite candid about sex.
Raima shot a bedroom sequence with Arunodoy but the director Vinay Shukla found it not passionate enough and asked her re-shoot the scene. He also convinced her that the other actress Konkona Sen has also re-shoot her sex scenes. Raima agreed to do that and during the second time, the sequence was shot in more elaborate way.
However, when Raima watched the final graphic detailing, she was almost shocked to see that her seen was too much elaborate and Konkona's scene was same as it was earlier. The actress was almost in tears and requested her director to tone down the sequence. She was feeling embarrassed thinking that how her mother will react watching this too intimate sequence.
The director has got his work done by making his film more sizzling with the re-shot sequence and he does not seem to have any interest in toning it down. Well, Raima you must have thought about this before going so passionate with Arunodoy. Now, your mother must have heard about it at least through media so there is no use of feeling so shy about it!

Works out post-pregnancy with sister Tanishaa for company and hubby Ajay's trainer Shereveer for guidance
Though onlookers may have found Kajol flaunting her post-pregnancy flab at the Toonpur Ka Superhero music launch, she has been gymming daily to get back into shape. The actress became a mum for the second time on September 13.
Kads has been working out at hubby Ajay Devgn's personal gym along with the star's trainer Shereveer Vakil. Her sister Tanishaa has been providing her company and going through the paces with her.
Says a source, "As soon as she had a go-ahead from the doctors to start physical training, Kajol began her fitness routine with Sheru (as the trainer is better known in B-Town). Exercising alone is boring so Tanishaa joined her big sis and in the process has knocked off five kilos already!"
Apart from cardio and weight training, the Mukerji sisters are also doing squats. While Kajol does 500 squats, Tanishaa does 200. Sheru also monitors their food intake even though Kajol is not on any kind of strict diet right now.
Adds the source, "Kajol and Tanishaa have a great time working out. They chat and laugh while doing the power strength training and while working with the weights."
Sheru has been Devgn's personal trainer for years and even accompanies the actor on outdoor shoots. At the shoot of All The Best last year, Devgn had 'gifted' Sheru to Sanjay Dutt during the movie's long outdoor shoot in Goa.

Sheru, who is also an actor, has featured in films like James and Welcome. The B-town clients he has trained include Anil Kapoor, Sonam Kapoor, Sanjay Dutt, Tabu and Madhuri Dixit.

Thanks to co-star Imran Khan (he's getting married January 8 and they have to finish shooting Mere Brother Ki Dulhan) and Farah Khan (TMK is due for release Dec 24), Kaif has had to postpone her annual holiday by a week
Katrina Kaif will forego her usual Christmas vacation with her family in London, thanks to her Tees Maar Khan director Farah Khan (their film is due for release Christmas Eve) and her Mere Brother Ki Dulhan co-star Imran Khan.
Why the delay...
Explains the actress, "Ideally, I'd have liked to be in London with my siblings and mom for Christmas. But Tees Maar Khan is up for release. So I pushed the trip back to the New Year."
Prod her some more, and she lets the cat out of the bag, "Imran's wedding is on 8 January. We have to finish another schedule before his wedding because he's taking time off after that."
She will rush through the current schedule of Zoya Akhtar's Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara before getting into the preponed schedule of Mere Brother Ki Dulhan for IK's sake.
She adds, "Imran is a really cool guy.I don't mind working extra-time to wrap up our schedule in time for his wedding. Shootings will go on. Imran's wedding will happen only once."

We have reported earlier that actress Sonakshi Sinha has been signed for Race 2 produced by Ramesh Taurani and directed by Abbas-Mustan. A section of the media reported that she would shed her innocent look in Dabangg and get steamy in Race 2. But the latest we hear is that she is against lovemaking and steamy scenes.
It is reported that Race 2 starring Saif Ali Khan, Anil Kapoor, John Abraham and Deepika Padukone would be lot hotter than the original version but Sonakshi has drawn a line for herself. It is said that she has made it clear to the makers of Race 2 that she would not do lovemaking and steamy scenes whatsoever.

Dharmendra-Hema Malini and Amitabh Bachchan-Jaya Bhaduri (Bachchan) were undoubtedly the two most iconic on screen pairs (who became real life pairs as well) of the seventies and early eighties.
Though Amitabh-Jaya were seen together as husband-wife in Karan Johar's family drama, KABHI KHUSHI KHABHIE GHAM, it's been (almost) over a quarter century since one of Bollywood's most loved on screen couple, Dharam-Hema, were seen opposite each other in full fledged roles. This is quite surprising since both of them are actively working in recently released films and both have done very well for themselves but have just not paired up for reasons best known to them.However, there is good news for all those who long to see them scorch the screens together. In a recent talk to the fourth estate the original he man, the still 'Garam' Dharam disclosed that the two are planning to pair up again and are looking through some scripts which will be appropriate for them to work on. Dharm paji also said that by next year they will surely find a good enough script so that they can work together once again.
Indeed it would be a delight to see Dharam-Hema setting the screens ablaze, considering the fact that Dharmendra still looks handsome and the ageless Hema Malini so very beautiful!

Prateik Babbar who recently entered his 25th year, had quite a lavish bash. The story goes that Prateik did not know what to do on his birthday, so he decided to go a popular Juhu joint with one of his friends.
Prateik's birthday was on 28th November, and he was in a fix as what should he do. But when he went to the pub, he suddenly announced that that it was his birthday and therefore he would buy drinks for everybody present there.Says a source present at the venue, "Prateik just casually announced that it's his birthday and that all the drinks were on him."

The past few weeks have been very dull and ever since the blockbuster success of GOLMAAL 3 most of the films that released have sunk without a trace. Even big filmmakers like Vipul Shah, Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Ashutosh Gowariker have failed to bring parity. So now all eyes are now on forthcoming projects on which Bollywood has pinned its hope to bring on the New year with joy and happiness.As per trade sources, TEES MAAR KHAN, TOONPUR KA SUPERRHERO, YAMLA PAGLA DEEWANA and DIL TO BACCHA HAI JI!!! are some of the films that the public is awaiting with bated breath. The trailers of these movies have been appreciated and the audience is really looking forward to them. Aamir Khan's DHOBI GHAT too is listed as hot amongst the class/elite section of the audience and its promos have generated enough curiosity.

DHOBHI GHAT may have gained international acclaim over the last few months and is expected to create buzz now in India as well. However, if its debutant leading lady Monica Dogra is to be believed, credit for that must go to its director Kiran Rao than just Aamir Khan who is mainly in the capacity of a producer and actor here.
"In the West, they look at the director's work more than concentrating their attention on the lead actor. This is the reason why they knew the film as a Kiran Rao film rather than Aamir Khan's", Monica talks about the experience of various visits that DHOBHI GHAT has made so far in the international circuits.When asked whether at the end of the day, it was Aamir's reach in the West doing the trick, Monica protests, "It's a wrong assumption to make. In fact Aamir took a back seat there. Kiran was all over and the common sentiment all over was that she is someone to look forward to."

Describing the great high that she felt while sitting amongst the audience, Monica remembers, "It was just so amazing. I could finally cut myself from the movie as someone who was a part of it and instead wore the hat of audience."

Ajay Devgn's and Sanjay Dutt's potent friendship has already been proven time and again.
Since long both the actors have shared a very strong rapport with each other. While Sanjay acted in ALL THE BEST for Ajay, Ajay in turn gave ample dates to him for his home production RASCALS. This is just one of the many instances.
What we hear latest is that Sanjay has done voice over in Ajay's latest live action animation film TOONPUR KA SUPERRHERO produced by Krishika Lulla and Kumar Mangat. When Ajay approached Sanjay Dutt to do a voice of God, one of the characters in the movie, Sanjay Dutt immediately agreed without giving a second thought.
Kireet Khurana, the director of the movie said, "We wanted someone impressive for the voice of God to introduce the characters in the film. Coincidently, Ajay and Sanjay were shooting together at that time. When I asked Ajay if Sanjay would do it, Sanjay said 'Anything for Ajay'. He dubbed for us last afternoon."

For Farah Khan and Shirish Kunder, it was taking an altogether different exchange of vows that they shared years after already been married. Before kick starting work on their first ever production together, TEES MAAR KHAN, Farah and Shirish promised each other that they would respect each other's boundaries and wouldn't cross paths unless asked for.
Laughs Farah, "It was very much required otherwise I am sure TEES MAAR KHAN would have never seen the light of the day. Shirish had written the film's screenplay and was also the producer. Naturally he was attached to it but when I stepped in as a director, my first question to him was whether he was willing to let go off the script and allow me to interpret it my way."
What followed next was a list of Do's and don'ts being listed where a code of conduct was drafted.
"I am serious when I say that but it was a clear mandate between us around how we would work on the film together so that there were no problems in the future," adds Shirish, "We made a list of all such things where we may have ended up crossing each other's paths. As a producer, I was flexible enough to give her all that she wanted to make our film look good. She wanted an entire train and an aeroplane for a few days of shoot; I gave her an entire working model to play around with. Of course she was happy and didn't have any reasons to complain."
Wish all couples were as dariya-dil!

Rajkumar Gupta's soon to be released NO ONE KILLED JESSICA shows media as righteous and powerful machinery. Sometimes media gets brickbats and misleading portrayal in movies that tarnish its image in the minds of the people BUT NO ONE KILLED JESSICA portrays otherwise.
The soon to be released movie NOKJ is inspired from model Jessica Lall's murder case. The movie shows that if media uses its power correctly it can make a huge difference. The film does not mock the judiciary system. It simply portrays the real life factual event. Rani is playing the character of Meera, represents media as a whole. Her character not being inspired by anyone in particular, she has all attributes of media holistically.

Though for decades, the leading man in a Barjatya production has always been known as 'Prem', in ISI LIFE MEIN debutant Akshay Oberoi is called Vivaan. If one was expecting Akshay to be disheartened about it, this is not the case as he truly believes that there is one and only original Prem - Salman Khan.
"I have no qualms whatsoever if I am called Vivaan and not Prem in the film," says Akshay who has earlier acted as a child artist in a crossover film called AMERICAN CHAI. "I think the name 'Prem' is very iconic for Sooraj Barjatya and Salman bhai."
Barjatyas have made exceptions to the rule though. In their productions which haven't featured Salman Khan, their central protagonists have been called Prem, case in point being Hrithik Roshan/ Abhishek Bachchan [MAIN PREM KI DIWANI HOON], Shahid Kapoor [VIVAH] and Sonu Sood [EK VIVAAH AISA BHI]. On the other hand prior to these films, each of the Salman Khan starrers - MAINE PYAAR KIYA, HUM AAPKE HAIN KAUN and HUM SAATH SAATH HAI had featured him as Prem.
"However if you ask me, this is one name that is reserved for him", says Akshay, "As a Salman fan, I truly believe that he is the ultimate Prem."
The transformation though has come not just in the name but also the characterisation. While 'Prem' is an icon of someone who is humble, modest, shy and a little quiet, there are different shades that Vivaan carries in ISI LIFE MEIN.
"Yes, it's an altogether different Prem that you would see in a Rajshri film this time around with ISI LIFE MEIN", assures Akshay.
Also marking the debut of Sandeepa Dhar as the leading lady, ISI LIFE MEIN is directed by first timer Vidhi and releases all over on 24th December.

HARUD, a film by debutante director Aamir Bashir continues to make waves at festivals. It has been selected for the 7th Dubai International Film Festival to be held from Dec 12 to 19, 2010.
HARUD is in competition in DIFF's MUHR ASIAAFRICA Competition and is making its Middle East Premier. The screenings are on Dec 13 at 10pm and Dec 16 at 1pm at MOE. Director and producer Aamir Bashir, co-producer and DOP Shanker Raman and the lead actor Shahnawaz Bhat who plays the role of Rafique in the film will be present at the Dubai Film Festival.
The film's Middle East Premier at the 7th Dubail International Film Festival is on Dec 13 at 10pm.

Sushmita Sen who is the female lead in Anil Kapoor's No Problem is conspicuous with her absence on the posters and other promotional material for the film.
According to sources, Sushmita did not turn up for the promotional photo shoot and is therefore missing in all the posters.
Apparently, Sushmita is miffed with the fact that Anil Kapoor has been giving Akshaye Khanna more prominence than her. It is well known that Anil and Akshaye share a good rapport ever since Akshaye starred in Anil's first production 'Gandhi-My Father'. However, to ignore Sushmita who is a star in her own right for the sake of Akshaye is not acceptable to Sush.

Sushmita Sen is reportedly playing the role of an individual with split personality. Buzz is that she plays the daughter of the commissioner of the police and Anil Kapoor’s wife who is so fed up with his demeanor that she develops a split-personality disorder.
The after effects of this disorder are so grave that for 10 minutes every day she turns completely violent and sets out to kill her poor husband. During one such fit, she reportedly runs after Anil with a sword and fights to take his life as he tries to defend himself with anything and everything that he can get hold of!
Whats more interesting is that she got a good practice run for actual sword fighting which she is supposed to do in her own movie on the lines of Jhansi ki rani, which is yet to go on the floors. And keeping to her professional ways, Sushmita handled the entire stunt required for the scene like a pro and performed just like any other B-town action hero would.

The new name to be added to the Bollywood club is that of director/actor Faruk Kabir and he came in with the film 'Allah Ke Banday'. However, it is heard that Faruk is miffed with the banner Percept Picture. Sources say that Faruk had paid nearly Rs 2.5 crores for the publicity of the film but then it didn't happen in the agreed format. Parlophone Coldplay has released a download-only Christmas single. The track - called 'Christmas Lights' - received its official radio premiere yesterday evening, when it was simultaneously released to online music retailers. The band have also unveiled a music video for the song, which shows them performing on a small, outdoor stage by the River Thames. On the track, Chris Martin sings: "Oh Christmas lights/ Light up the street/ Light up the fire that was in me/ May all your troubles soon be gone/ Those Christmas lights/ Keep shining on."
The group, who are currently working on their fifth studio album, will play two Christmas charity concerts in Liverpool and Newcastle on December 19 and 20.

A great cast and cute premise sets the stage for disappointment in this unwieldy and unfunny look at morning television. The public idea that all anchors fight until the red light goes is an ancient one that is a bit too easy to pillage. Having worked in a newsroom for years, I can say that this is an inauthentic view of that rarified world. The way it’s shown, a hostile, inhumane, lazy environment is true some of the time but certainly not all the time as suggested here.
Rachel McAdams plays a New Jersey morning show produce who gets a shot at the big time, executive producing a morning show along the lines of Today. She is stone cold flibberty gibbet whose flying hands, wild eyes, weird gestures and screechy voice denote Nervous / New / Too Young in ways that leave no doubt.
Her exhausting overacting continues throughout the movie. She has a squirmingly awkward romance with another producer (Patrick Wilson) that comes from nowhere and seems to fly in the face of her lofty ambitions.
Harrison Ford as the crusty award-winning news anchor, the conventional gruff greybeard who’s been tossed to the minors – the morning show – is all anger, and he never lets up, making his one of the most uncomfortable screen personas of all time. He doesn’t learn or progress and that’s just dead air. He’s too unrelenting obnoxious to stir any identification with the audience who otherwise might sympathize with his fading fortunes.
However, his morning show co-host played with relish is Diane Keaton. She’s a dream, bringing fresh air into this stale piece; she’s wacky, amusingly bitter, and loveable, and when she’s off screen, well, she’s missed terribly.
Keaton has never made a secret of her age (now 64) and it’s given her a certain freedom, she goes for the gusto never letting it get her character down or threaten her television career. The idea that age and experience trump callow youth would work here if it weren’t for Fords’s lame and disagreeable character, a guy who won’t do the job without griping.
Good news is that Jeff Goldblum and Patti D’Arbanville do some fine pitching for the elder team. These two refuse to pander and deliver the goods.
It’s hard to understand that director Roger Michael made such a misstep, with this unfunny romcom, having made Notting Hill, Changing Lanes and the truly remarkable Venus. McAdams seems to be a weak link, and is now being quoted in interviews as saying she isn’t as “high-strung” as her character; a little damage control, we‘re guessing.
Still the jangled nerves McAdam’s acting causes in this false news world create a perfect storm of annoyance as we wait for Keaton to appear again or the movie to end.

This is as disturbing a 94 minutes as any on film. It’s no picnic, but Danny Boyle’s done a magnificent job of telling the true story of “canyoneer” Aron Ralston and his sojourn in the desert, arm pinned under a rock, back in 2003. Ralston became a pop hero and inspiration by cutting off his own arm to escape death by dehydration, starvation, and exposure, a last ditch act that saved him. And it is one of the year’s best films.
It was to be a regular adventure day for Ralston – he’d bike ride hours to his ‘home away from home’, rock formations at the top of a Utah desert mountain range where he would explore caves and crevices and photograph nature’s remote splendor. He had the maps and knew the lay of the land from previous experience and had the confidence of ten men.
But he made some serious mistakes, painfully obvious in retrospect that sealed his fate. He felt invincible and didn’t tell anyone where he was going or the dangerous things he was going to do, he didn’t take his good pocket knife and he went alone across vast miles of baking/freezing desert.
Ralston was an experienced outdoorsman with plenty of first hand and book knowledge but no one prepares for a rock to fall on your arm while traversing a deep mountain crevice.
Boyle has a sensational story to tell and he elevates it with remarkable artistry. A whole movie about a climber pinned in a hole seems limiting, but it’s told in a compelling, cinematic style.
Boyle takes us inside Ralston’s head, shows us his recollections, fears, emotional attitude, hallucinations, and sense of humor that sustained him and kept him company. He contrasts the neon electronic vibe of Ralston’s hallucinations with the unmoving, monochromatic reality of the crevice and warm, soft -focus family scenes.
Boyle has outdone himself skimming through a universe of real, unreal, love, fear and survival in ways that are accessible and entertaining.
But entertaining isn’t exactly the word to describe what he does to free himself from the rock and truthfully, this reviewer had to look away, but it gets us where we live.
Reports of movie patrons collapsing in theatres showing the film are the stuff of newswires these days and while I wondered about that, the ripple effects of the cutting scenes lingered long after I left the theatre.
James Franco does a sensational job as Ralston. Franco’s expressive, plastic face is not only made for movies, it’s made for this movie, but even so, it’s his remarkable spirit that is the key to the film’s success. Bravado turns to fear, and hope to resignation, but love and optimism never abandon him and he seems always able to see clearly and weather the inevitable.
Two girls (Kate Mara and Amber Tamblyn) are onscreen with Franco for about ten minutes at the top and a few minor characters appear at the end, but it’s just Franco carrying this incredible movie.
His tour-de-force performance must not be overlooked at awards season. Same for Boyle, who could manage a double header after last year’s Slumdog Millionaire triumph.

I have laughed at a funeral once. Someone I know who’d lost her husband kept crying as she was being hugged by everyone. I went to hug her too, and she whispered please keep a particular lady away from me, she has bad breath and keeps making me cry.
We just smiled at that and it almost seemed to come as a bit of relief for her,” he said. The actor known for his character roles in films like 3 Idiots, Munnabhai MBBS, Khosla Ka Ghosla and others held a workshop on the evolution of comedy in Indian cinema earlier in the day to a packed auditorium, easily one of the biggest draws of the 11-day film festival, which concludes on Thursday. “As cinema has evolved, so has comedy. Comedy is a loosely used word. In The Great Dictator, Charlie Chaplin spoke about World War II, a sad story. So, more important than anything is a good story.”
The actor spoke at length about his shift from photography, his acting journey over the last decade and about the need for good screenplay writers in Hindi cinema. “Great screenplays are character, plot and subtext driven. Even a historical film should incorporate contemporary consciousness. Shakespeare In Love was an interesting film in this aspect. The idiom of cinema has changed today. I think someone like Raju Hirani uses comedy like the older timers such as Chaplin. He understands the people of India very well,” he said.B

Bungalows, marriage 'mandaps', coffee houses, police stations - all of this and more has been a part of set design for many a Bollywood films in the past. But ever heard of an entire functional train being made just for a film?
Well, this is what makers Farah Khan and Shirish Kunder did for their first ever production Tees Maar Khan. As is a known fact by now, Tees Maar Khan has a heist plot to it with the entire climax set on a fast running train. To ensure that there were no breaks and an entire train was available to the team for days at stretch, the makers came up with a novel idea. Instead of hiring a train, they built one all by themselves.
Confirms Farah Khan, "Yes, we have made a train especially for Tees Maar Khan. All credit to our art director Sabu Cyril who has made it look totally authentic. In fact we tease him saying that he won't get any award for his effort here since the train looks so real. Not just that, we also made an aeroplane just for the film's shoot." Making of this train came with a huge price tag as well. As much as 75 lacs were spent on building the train as well as a 500 meters long track.
"The climax requires Akshay to pull off the biggest heist ever in his life. For that, there was a large canvas which was required to be put together. Since the shooting took place in Malshej ghat, an entire train along with tracks was transported there. There was also added cost on the yard where the train was stationed when not being used during shooting", details Farah.
In fact the train wasn't driven by a professional engine driver and instead had a truck driver getting behind the wheels.
Laughs Farah, "Yes, it was actually quite amusing for the truck driver as well as this was the first time ever that he was running an entire vehicle on a fixed track. Also, he had to do quite a lot of to-and-fro on that 500 meters long track."
One wonders though that with a train in sight, was Farah able to resist her temptation to get into a 'Chaiyya Chaiyya' mode all over again? "Come on, there is a train robbery happening here, not romance. But then you never know, there could well be some surprise in store here as well. After all with Akshay around, you can expect the unexpected", teases Farah before signing off.

Bollywood star Salman Khan has become a sought after hero since the grand success of his last film Dabangg. The star has also realized his worth and started demanding a fee hike for any television show. The Dabangg Khan has reportedly asked for a whopping sum of Rs 25 million per episode to host money-churning show 'Dus Ka Dum'. The earlier two seasons of the show was hosted by the actor himself but this time he will be very expensive for the channel. Salman has reportedly said that he would return to the show only if he is paid the said amount, which is almost 51% more than what he was paid for the last two seasons of the show.
A source confirmed the news saying that the channel earlier paid him Rs 16.5million per episode in the earlier seasons. But the reports are contrasting as it says that Salman charged only Rs 890 million for the total 104 episodes of the first season. But the source said that the figure was only portrayed for media.
Salman seems to have planned to break all the records by any other Bollywood star by demanding this huge amount. He is now hosting Colors' popular reality show 'Bigg Boss Season 4'. Sallu has already broken the records made by veteran stars like Amitabh Bachchan and superstar Shah Rukh Khan.
He has demanded much more than his present fees for 'Bigg Boss 4' in which he is reportedly being paid Rs 20 million per episode. However, this is a package deal, which involves various public appearances and other promotional activities.

Actor Ranbir Kapoor has applauded ex-girlfriend Deepika Padukone's decision of not getting rid of the RK tattoo that she has got done on the nape of the her neck, reportedly for Ranbir, while they were dating each other. "I have had one of the most wonderful relationships with Deepika that lasted for more than two years. It's brave of her to keep the RK tattoo intact even after we have parted ways," says Ranbir on the chat show, Koffee with Karan, hosted by Karan Johar. He, along with Imran Khan, feature on the second episode that will air this Sunday on Star World.

Bushra Ansari, considered an icon on Pakistani television, also penned a play 'Doli Ki Aaye Gi Baraat' for Eid. The play revolved around two families, one living in Karachi and the other in Faisalabad, whose kids wanted to marry each other.
The play, aired by Geo TV, was a huge hit and was re-run. But the showstopper was a dholki sequence where both the families danced their hearts out to 'Munni badnaam hui'.
When the star cast of the play sat in the studio on Eid day to narrate the making of the play, they were again asked to perform to the hit tune.
Movie buffs flocked to see 'Dabangg' this Eid.

Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor refuse to perform at a gutkha wedding where everyone from Salman to SRK will be dancing. The duo has decided as a rule to stop performing at weddings, no matter what fee is offered
Most of B-Town including Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif at a wedding in Delhi on November 18. But one couple have decided to stay away from it in spite of being offered big bucks Saif Ali Khan and his girlfriend Kareena Kapoor.
Not for strangers
Says a source, "The couple was offered to perform at the wedding between two gutkha families and were offered almost Rs 4 crore but they turned it down.
They had taken a decision over a year ago that no matter what the price offered, they would not dance at wedding functions of strangers. That is strictly reserved for family and friends."
The reason for the star couple's non-performances at weddings is parental disapproval. Mainly his. The chote nawab comes from a royal family, and it is belittling for them to perform at weddings for cash.
Even Bebo's parents weren't exactly thrilled with the idea of them dancing at private functions. While shows and events like award functions are fine, they draw the line at weddings.
Saifeena were shocked to hear that they were part of the 'gutkha wedding' in the media and decided to clarify their stand."
Hum bhi nahin...
While Saif and Kareena took the decision not to perform at weddings a year ago, Ajay Devgn and his wife Kajol have never performed at weddings.
It's a stand they had taken right in the beginning of their careers and till now, haven't changed their minds though they have been offered big money to perform together.
In fact, Devgn has often expressed his displeasure of stars performing at shows, events and weddings. Sunil Shetty also doesn't perform at weddings.

If you thought that "Munni badnaam hui" from "Dabangg" will take the cake for being the most popular item number this year, then think again! The song "Sheila ki jawani" from the forthcoming film "Tees Maar Khan" is ready to give it a tough competition.
The film has music by composer duo Vishal-Shekhar and offers five originals and four remix tracks. All the songs from the album are fun, energetic and pacy.
The album starts with a bang with the energy-packed title track that is the only song written and composed by Shirish Kunder. The highlight of the song is singer Sonu Niigam has crooned it all by himself in many different voices including that of a woman. The song has all the ingredients of being a chartbuster with a change in tempo. With engaging beats and dialogues, the song gives a good start to the soundtrack.
The title track has a re-mixed version too.
Next comes "Sheila ki jawani" sung brilliantly by Sunidhi Chauhan by ample support from Vishal Dadlani. It is an instantly likeable song. The beats are very interesting that makes the listener get up and shake a leg. It's sure to be a favourite at the DJ consoles.

The album takes a slight change with a qawwali, which has become a novelty in film albums nowadays. The song called 'Wallah re wallah', has Kamal Khan, Raja Hasan, Shreya Ghoshal and Shekhar Ravjiani behind the mike. The song has good beats, making it pacy and interesting.
There is a remix of this song too.
Then comes an average track titled "Badey dilwale", which is sung by Sukhwinder Singh and Shreya Ghoshal and additional voices by Suzanne Dmello, Vishal and Shekhar. It is also a fast-paced and high on beats song, but it fails to create the same impact like other songs in the album.
The remixed version too adds nothing extraordinary to the original.
Finally, there is "Happy ending" that has been sung by the participants of music reality shows. The singers include Prajakta Shukre, Harshit Saxena, Abhijeet sawant and Debojit Saha. It is quite an average song.
On the whole, the album is a must hear and a fun package of dance numbers that will keep the energy high.

Ranbir Kapoor is going through a difficult phase these days. Every news magazine publishes at least one story about him being out of love or going through a rough patch in his own relationships or being held responsible for someone else’s break up.
The fact that Ranbir is a self confessed romantic star does not call for breaking news at all. He did admit that he had multiple affairs on a popular chat show recently, which makes it is a matter of great surprise when he claims to be single at present.
After having gone through a torrid affair with Deepika Padukone and then getting into his new found relationship with Katrina Kaif, there are again reports going around that Ranbir’s love life has gone for a full toss as Katrina is upset with him.
What comes across as a heaven of peace might not always be true, ask Ranbir Kapoor. The poor guy, who seems to have it all going perfectly well in his career front with great films to his credit, has really no such luck in his real life. His real life romantic link ups always ends up in the doldrums and that makes him the star who is jinxed in love!

Akshay Kumar's new name is fast becoming his most popular name. After being called 'Khiladi' for decades, now, Akki is known by the name of Khan in industry circles. Yes, TEES MAAR KHAN, the name of his upcoming film is also becoming his new name in bollywood.
Reveals a source close to the actor, "These days everyone in the trade is calling Akshay by his new name: TEES MAAR KHAN. His earlier title Khiladi is fast being replaced by this new name. The new Khan in B-Town is making waves for all the good reasons. Many in the trade also believe that this new name might stay with him as the film is getting good response from the audiences and the trade alike."

Bollywood beauty and former Miss Universe, Sushmita Sen, who turns 35, is celebrating her birthday this year in Dubai with her family - daughters and her mother, reports said.
The glamour queen of B-town has mentioned that she is not in a hurry to get married and will dedicate time to her lovely daughters, Renee and Alisha.
The first Indian woman to win the Miss Universe crown in 1994, she had made her Bollywood debut in the film, DASTAK.
She gained success in the movie BIWI NO.1, directed by David Dhawan and had also won the 'Filmfare Best Supporting Actress Award' in 1999. BIWI NO.1 which happened to be was the highest grossing movie of 1999.
In that year, she had also got a nomination in the same category for the film SIRF TUM. She was appreciated for her well-crafted acting in movies like AANKHEN and MAIN AISA HI HOON.
But it was her teaming up with Shah Rukh Khan in the movie MAIN HOON NA that brought her real success and popularity.
The film was the second best selling movie of 2004.

The Yash Patnaik produced and Wilson Louis-directed horror film KAALO has won two awards at the South African Horrorfest held at Cape Town from 27 October to 5 November. The film won the best feature film award and also the best cinematography award.
Said Wilson Louis, 'Getting an international recognition that too for a horror film to an Indian filmmaker like me gives me an opening and a thought process to hence forward make films in which I am apt in.'
Other films that lapped up awards were THE TAINT that received the most outrageous award, Ken Foree won the best male award for ZONE OF THE DEAD while Kristina Klebe annexed the best female lead award for the same film.
The best screenplay award went to Adam Mason and Simon Boyes won the best screenplay award for BLOOD RIVER, Pushpank Gawade won the best cinematography award for KAALO.
While THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA that won the audience choice award, WALKING DISTANCE won the best special FX make-up award.
Short film STAY got a special mention for the best scare film while Joe Spinell got an entry into the Hall of Fame for MANIAC

Recently, Asin announced loud and clear that she wasn't doing the Hindi remake of KAKKA KAKKA. One always wondered what went wrong though, considering the fact that when producer Vipul Shah announced this film with John in the lead and Nishikant Kamat (of MUMBAI MERI JAAN) as a director, Asin's name had made it to the top of the list as the preferred choice for the leading lady. Since the experienced actress from down South had already worked with Vipul in the past (LONDON DREAMS), it seemed like the right decision as well.
"Yes, I won't deny that I was earlier supposed to work in this film", accepts Asin while detailing out the series of events that changed the course of the star cast, "In fact I had done the Telugu remake of the same film so I was pretty much aware about the setting and the role. However, at that time, Gautham Menon (who had directed the original KAKKA KAKKA) was supposed to direct the Hindi version as well."
However, things change in due course of time with Nishikant Kamat coming on board instead of Gautham Menon.

"I didn't have any issues with that", clarifies Asin, "However, with a new director coming in, there were certain changes that he wanted to incorporate in the script. Further work on this took time and fortunately or unfortunately, I had my dates committed to READY (with Salman Khan) and Tamil flick KAAVALAN (with Vijay). There was no way that I could readjust my date diaries."
With a firm stance of 'all is well' being taken by the actress, Asin says that she along with Vipul know the real truth and hence there is no bad blood between two of them.
"Vipul also understood my situation when I mentioned to him about my prior commitment to the other two films", Asin eases up here, "We sat across the table and tried to figure out a way but then there wasn't much that we could do. It was eventually a mutual decision and we parted on a friendly note. You never know, we could be working
with each other again in some other assignment."

They are both from Delhi. Both are self made super stars who have reached the pinnacle of success without any godfather/relatives in the Hindi film industry. We are obviously talking about Shah Rukh Khan and Akshay Kumar who share a very good personal relationship
It's common knowledge that Shah Rukh visited Akshay Kumar on the sets of BLUE last year and bonded with the 'Khiladi' for quite some time. And now it was the turn of Akshay who made it a point to visit Shah Rukh Khan on the sets of his SFX extravaganza, the Anubhav Sinha directed RA.ONE. Unit sources inform that Shah Rukh and Akshay bonded big time again, talking to each other for quite a long time and SRK even showed Akki the rushes of RA.ONE. The buzz doing the rounds is that Akshay was very impressed by the rushes especially, those of the mind blowing action sequences.
It's certainly good to see such bonhomie and bonding among big stars and here's hoping that they come together again and make our dil pagal like in DIL TO PAGAL HAI.

SHAH RUKH: ‘Raj or SRK, he’s every woman’s dream’ He’s been the Badshah of Bollywood for years. And is as lovable and energetic off screen, as he is on it. After Asoka, Kabhie Khushi Kabhi Gham and Billu, in which I made a special appearance in a song, we’re now working on Ra.One. It’s exciting being a part of a fantasy adventure in the superhero genre and from what I’ve seen Shah Rukh will pull it off.
There’s been talk that since Robot’s release, some of the super effects are being redone or upgraded. That’s non-sense! RA.One is going to introduce you to SFX that you have never seen before.
Shah Rukh and Arjun (Rampal) have their superhero costumes. For once, I’m glad they are not a part of my wardrobe, and for a change, the weight loss controversy is dogging my co-stars rather than me. For me, the biggest high as far as this film goes, is Akon’s song. That will be my memento!
SALMAN: ‘He’ll make me the envy of all women’
Salman is our Rajnikant, from Maine Pyaar Kiya to Dabangg, he’s been amazing! His expressive eyes have won the hearts of trillions and I’m one of them.
I’ve worshipped him since I was a star-gazer on the sets of Jagruti. In that film, he was paired with my sister and they continue to share a great bond. Salman is protective of Karisma, actually he’s protective of me too, probably because he’s known me since I was really young.
Our first film together was Main Aurr Mrs Khanna last Diwali. Now I’m getting ready for the hottest bodyguard, one that would make me the envy of all the women. The film has a great role for me too, and that should also make me the envy of other Bollywood actors.
Baby (Salman’s sister Alvira who is producing the film) really wanted me for the role not just because I looked the part but because she believed I could carry it off. It’s great to get a vote of confidence for your talent and I think Bodyguard will be the perfect film for Salman and me.
AAMIR: ‘He’s the God of everything to do with our movies’
I love Aamir Khan. What a genius! He’s the God of everything to do with movies. Saif rags me saying once we’re on the subject of Aamir it’s going to be a three-hour conversation.
What to do, I respect him immensely. He’s right up there as far as performances go. I’ve been waiting to work with him forever. I got a chance when Raju (Rajkumar Hirani) cast us in 3 Idiots. Now I’m hoping for a repeat.
IMRAN: ‘Saif says we make a great pair’
I haven’t seen much of Imran’s work. I liked him in Jaane Tu.. Ya Jaane Na. He made me laugh and that’s a tough job. He’s growing fast with every film and is one of the dark horses who should go far. He looks stunningly beautiful on screen!
I don’t know him too well. We haven’t started shooting for Short Term Shaadi yet. But Saif, after watching him in I Hate Luv Storys, feels that he’s bright and talented. And that he and I make a great pair. I trust Saif’s judgement!
SAIF: ‘He’s worked on his own terms’
What sets Saif apart from a number of other actors is his belief in himself and the movies he makes. That’s why he’s taken so many risks in his career. Right from Parampara to Love Aaj Kal, Qurbaan and now Agent Vinod, Saif has worked on his own terms.
He’s a great actor and I’m not just saying that because of our personal relationship. He’s versatile and intelligent, a great combination of beauty and brains. He’ll always be a leader, given the way he thinks. He makes me so proud!
For the last one year he’s been completely focused on Agent Vinod. He’s been obsessed with the genre since he was a kid. And I think he’s the right guy to make a film along the lines of a Bond or a Bourne Identity.
He’s cultured, has had a wonderful education and upbringing, and despite being a Bollywood actor, he’s kinda international.

He is a superstar and his charming ways are still intact, yet Shah Rukh Khan makes a perfect actor to play a fading superstar in a film that will also star Ranbir Kapoor in the lead. In a Hindi remake of a Bengali film, the makers are keen to rope in these two stars. The Bengali movie is Autograph which is doing really well at the BO, and seeing its success and the storyline, the producer of Ghajini, Madhu Mantena, has made up his mind to work on its Hindi remake. As he is quoted as saying, “I think the era of remakes from regional languages into Hindi is back.”
The movie Autograph tells a story about a superstar who is working with an ambitious young director. Later the director’s girlfriend ends up playing the superstar’s heroine. In the original, Bengali actor Prosenjeet essayed the character of the superstar. The Hindi one will most likely have SRK.
The remake will be directed by Srijit Mukherjee who also helmed the original Bengali film. However, it’s believed that a few changes will be made in the script because SRK might have apprehensions about playing a fading star.

Rs 2.5 crore. That's what Malaika Arora-Khan is being offered to perform at New Year's Eve. Aur yeh toh hona hi tha.
Given that Munni Badnaam Hui is the biggest item song of the year so far, there's really little to stop Malla from asking for the sky.
Malaika confirms, "Offers to perform on New Year's Eve have come to me from various places; some have been fantastic but I am yet to make up my mind."
Price upped
Says a source, "Malla hasn't performed at New Year's Eve for the last three years and has instead been part of family vacations to Dubai, Panvel and Goa.
This year, however, she is considering performing, given the track's popularity.
And though she has always had great offers come her way, this year it's the best. She is being wooed over bigger names like Kareena Kapoor, Bipasha Basu, Katrina Kaif and Mallika Sherawat."
A source close to Malaika says, "She has already had offers from Marriott and Sahara Star and Country Club among other venues.
